National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA)

I have been certified for the past six (6) years as a hardwood flooring inspector with the NWFA.  I have performed inspections in this capacity in cities across Canada.  These inspections clearly pinpoint cause and the party responsible. I have attached a copy of our “Code of Conduct” which clearly states our mandated responsibility.

I have also been certified in both hardwood installation and sand & finish with the NWFA since 2005.

As a yearly requirement by the NWFA, I attend the required ongoing training sessions in St. Louis Missouri in order to keep my licence in good standing.

I was recently asked by the National Coordinator of the NWFA-CP Division to sit on the grading committee which is responsible for reviewing reports submitted by other inspectors in both Canada & the USA.

Armstrong World Industries – Manufacturers of the Bruce, Hartco (now Armstrong) and Robbins Sports Surfaces lines of hardwood flooring

I was certified both as a Master Installer and a Senior Installation Trainer in Canada by Armstrong in 2004.  The following year I was presented with the “Trainer of the Year Award” for both Canada and the USA for training and certifying over 360 professional installers in the Armstrong Hardwood & Commercial Laminate lines. This included a week of training in both Moncton and Halifax.

Over the past sixteen (16) years I have held the following positions:
 

• Hardwood Flooring Specialist with G.E. Shnier from 2006 to 2011.  I responsible for handling all the wood, cork and laminated claims and inspections on a national level, as well as providing in-house training and technical support for seventy-five (75) sales representatives across the country.

 

• Technical Specialist & Sales Representative for Preverco Hardwood Flooring in Ontario from 2005 to 2006, specialising in servicing New Home Builder Contractor accounts. Preverco is a Quebec based manufacturer of solid and engineered hardwood flooring products.

 

• Training Director for Goodfellow Inc. from 2001 to 2005.  Goodfellow is the national distributor for all three Armstrong Hardwood & Laminate flooring lines.  It was during this time that I conducted the installation training mentioned under the Armstrong World Industries section of this listing.

 

• I was a Production Coordinator with Satin Finish Harwood Flooring from 1997 to 2001.  Satin Finish is a Toronto based manufacturer (one of the largest in Canada) of solid and engineered hardwood flooring products.
